I'm Feeling Couture

After flicking through pics of haute couture 07 collections, my thoughts ran to a silk Fornarina bow that I bought back then when I went to Hong Kong. I bought the bow 'accidentaly', because I saw it on the most unseen rack. The sale rack that located at the very back corner. When I stumbled across this silk thing, it was like finding treasure among the crowded piles of clothes.

It was very suprising to find things like this on a high street store. But actually, I don't know how to access it into day-to-day clothing, without looking so over-the-top. It looks really nice with a Mysty Woman cobalt mini dress though. And also with a simple white t-shirt, I already feel like buying some Comme des Garçons.

Or maybe I could play it up ala Prada SS 07 turban? :))

The Tale of Skinnies

Sometimes when I saw people on the street (note: street means shopping mall here), all I see was this. EVERYBODY wearing the same thing. Skinny jeans. From thrift store to Tsubi. Especially paired with the everywhere ballet flats.

Suddenly I wondered, "I'm really confused. I'm not ready to change my favorite jeans to a boyish one. But I also don't want to have such a 'common' style." Sure there is high-waisted jeans, but it also needs bravery to rocking them out (We'll talk about high-waisted later). It's not that I want to ditch my favorite pair of Miss Sixty J-Lot jeans. I LOVE them to death.

But could other jeans replace the huge fabulousness of skinny jeans back then in 2006? Don't forget that we still see them on the street A LOT.

And are skinnies really OUT now? My friends still think that people in skinnies are stylish.

Now I don't think I will buy that Superfine jeans for fashion investment.

I Do Love Cory Kennedy

Why oh why I do like her very much right now. Yes, I know that most of you hate Cory Kennedy (What to love on a 16-year-old LA party scenester that looked like a druggie?). Or maybe you love her because you hate her (Err..that doesn't make any sense).

Well, I found out that this girl's style is really inspiring. She's just put anything and it will look effortlessly cool on her. And she did a whole lot designer + vintage/bargain mix, and also heavy layering technique - sans stylist (*cough* rachel zoe). Although those combo are "ordinary", but it looked super fun on her. And I guess you don't see people who wear skinny jeans tucked into your converse/trainers that often.

Oh, and that attitude. Cory Kennedy doesn't act like otherself. She doesn't look like trying too hard and, cliche it is, be herself. She could really smile when she had that big zit on the chin. It kind of says to me that looking bad isn't really that bad. Nice, no?

In my mind, she's like a rock 'n roll version of Margherita Missoni.
